In spite of its SUV-like body shape, the X1 still presents some particularly BMW-like driving fun. Brisk, responsive directing and a tight suspension make hurling it through boondocks corners a delight. The 2.0-liter turbocharged four-chamber makes 228 hp and drives either the front or each of the four wheels through an eight-speed programmed.
